Yes, though other meats being more common, biryani eaters all over the world can easily swear by mutton. And not just biryanis, curries, bakes and all other preparations with this wonderful meat are always special. Did you know, unlike other dishes, a day-old mutton prep will always be all the more tastier on the palate! Try it the next time you plan on to take on this meat.

Ingredients for Keema Pav - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Mutton mince (keema) 250 grams

  • Pairi mangoes 6

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Large onions finely chopped 2

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Green chillies diagonally sliced 2

  • Medium tomatoes finely chopped 2

  • Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Green peas boiled 1/2 cup

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Emmental cheese slices 4

  • Cheddar cheese slices 4

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180° C.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and sauté till they change colour. Add onions and sauté till lightly browned.

Step 3

Add ginger-garlic paste and mix well. Add green chillies, mutton mince, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add tomatoes, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and mix well.

Step 5

Add some water and mix. Add salt and mix. Add green peas and some more water, mix, cover and cook till fully done. Add lemon juice and mix.

Step 6

Halve pavs horizontally. Spread cooked mutton mixture on the base half, top with emmental and cheddar cheese slices and cover with the top half.

Step 7

Place the pavs on a baking tray and cover with aluminium foil. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.

Step 8

Serve hot.
