Ingredients list for Ghugni
- 2 cups Dried Yellow Peas soaked and drained and boiled
- Oil
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 medium Onion
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 medium Tomato chopped
- 2 teaspoons Roasted cumin powder
- 1/4 cup Fresh coconut sliced
- to taste Salt
- 2 Green chillies slit
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
Method
Heat oil in a non stick pan. Chop onion. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf and onion to the pan and sauté till lightly browned. Add ginger, turmeric powder, tomato and a little water and mix. Sauté till tomato becomes pulpy.
Add peas and mix well. Add ¼ cup water and salt. Add cumin powder and coconut slices and mix well. Add green chillies, garam masala powder and mix. Cover and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
