By Sanjeev Kapoor 14 Aug 2019 in Recipes Non Veg New Update Main Ingredients Pomfret fillets, Banana leaves Cuisine Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Moderate Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Fried Fish in Banana Leaves 2 Pomfret fillets 1-2 Banana leaves 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1 cup Fresh coconut scraped 2-3 Green chillies 1/2 cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons Fresh mint leaves chopped 4-5 Garlic cloves 1/2 medium Raw mango peeled and roughly chopped to taste Salt 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 tablespoon Lemon juice for shallow frying Oil Method Dry roast the cumin seeds till fragrant. Remove from heat and transfer in a grinder jar. Add the coconut, green chillies, coriander leaves, mint leaves, garlic, raw mango, salt and turmeric powder and grind to a smooth paste. Transfer in a bowl, add the lemon juice and mix well. Add the fish and coat well. Cut the banana leaves into small portions and place the fish fillet in each portion. Wrap like a parcel and tie with a kitchen string. Heat some oil in a non-stick pan. Place the parcels on it and shallow-fry for five minutes on each or till the fish is cooked. Unwrap and serve hot.
