Ingredients for Desi Sloppy Joes -SK Khazana Recipe

  • Mutton mince 250 grams

  • Burger buns 4

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Onion large, finely chopped 1

  • Garlic paste 1/2 tablespoon

  • Ginger paste 1/2 tablespoon

  • Fresh tomato puree 1 cup

  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1 tablespoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green chillies chopped 2

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 3 tablespoons

  • Butter as required

  • French fries to serve

  • Onion rings to serve

  • Lemon wedge to serve


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add onion and sauté till translucent. Add garlic paste and ginger paste, mix well and saute for 1 minute.

Step 2

Add tomato puree, mix well and saute till the oil separates.

Step 3

Add cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and green chillies, mix well. Mix well.

Step 4

Add mutton mince, mix well. Add salt, mix well and saute on high heat for 5-6 minutes. Add coriander leaves and ¾ cup water, mix well, cover and cook for 15-20 minutes.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 180˚C.

Step 6

Halve the burger buns, apply butter on both sides, place them on a baking tray, keep the tray in the preheated oven and toast it for 5-7 minutes.

Step 7

Keep the top of the buns aside. Place a generous portion of the mutton mixture on each bun base. Place a cheese slice over the mutton mixture. Keep the tray back in the hot oven and bake for 5 minutes or till the cheese melts. Take it out of the oven and place the top half of the buns over the cheese.

Step 8

Transfer the buns on a serving plate and serve hot with French fries, onion rings and lemon wedge.
