Ingredients list for Homemade French Fries
- 4 medium Potatoes peeled and cut into fingers
- to taste Salt
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- Tomato sauce
- 3 cups Fresh tomato puree
- ¼ cup Honey
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon Dried ginger powder (soonth)
- to taste Black salt (kala namak)
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Vinegar
Method
- Boil sufficient water in a deep non-stick pan. Add potato fingers and salt and cook till the potato fingers are almost done. Strain.
- Freeze the boiled potato fingers for 20-25 minutes. Transfer into a zip-lock bag and freeze again for 2-3 hours.
- To prepare tomato sauce, heat tomato puree in another deep non-stick pan. Add honey, chilli powder, dried ginger powder and black salt, mix and cook on low heat till the mixture reduces and thickens.
- Preheat air fryer to 180º C.
- Add olive oil to frozen potato fingers and toss well. Transfer into the air fryer basket.
- Put the basket into the preheated air fryer and air cook for 12-15 minutes.
- Add salt to the sauce and mix. Add vinegar, mix and cook for 2 minutes. Transfer into a serving bowl.
- Transfer the French fries onto the worktop, sprinkle salt over them and mix well. Transfer into a paper bag.
- Serve hot with tomato sauce.
