Ingredients for Burger Buns Recipe

  • Refined flour (maida) 500 grams

  • Castor sugar (caster sugar) 50 grams

  • Yeast fresh 20 grams

  • Salt 5 grams

  • Milk powder 22 grams

  • Butter 40 grams

  • Milk wash as required

  • White sesame seeds ¼ cup

Method

Step 1

Add little castor sugar and 1-2 tablespoons water to yeast and heat for 10 seconds in the microwave. Remove from heat and mix well.

Step 2

Put refined flour, remaining castor sugar, salt and milk powder in a bowl and mix well.

Step 3

Add yeast mixture and water as required and knead into a soft dough.

Step 4

Add butter and knead again. Cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside for 10-15 minutes.

Step 5

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a baking tray with little oil.

Step 6

Divide dough into equal portions and shape them tightly into buns. Place buns on the greased tray, cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside to prove for 10-15 minutes.

Step 7

Remove muslin cloth and apply milk wash on the buns. Sprinkle sesame seeds on the buns. Place tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.

Step 8

Remove from heat and cool. Use as required.
