Ingredients list for American Sev Puri
- 8 Canape cups
- as required Sev
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- 1-2 Fresh red chillies finely chopped
- ¾ cup Corn kernels boiled
- 1 tablespoon Fresh mint leaves chopped
- for garnishing Fresh coriander leaves chopped, 1 tablespoon +
- to taste Salt
- to taste Crushed black peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon Sweet chilli sauce
- ½ teaspoon Chaat masala
- ½ tablespoon lemon juice
Method
- Preheat oven to 180º C. Line a baking tray with silicon mat.
- Place canapés on the lined baking tray. Place the baking tray in preheated oven and bake for 2-3 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add onion and sauté till translucent. Add fresh red chillies and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Add corn kernels, mix and cook for a minute. Add mint leaves, coriander leaves, salt and crushed peppercorns, mix and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add sweet chilli sauce and mix. Add chaat masala, mix and cook for a minute. Add lemon juice and mix. Remove from heat and cool.
- Place the baked canapés on the worktop, put some onion-corn mixture in each and top with some sev.
- Serve immediately garnished with coriander leaves.
