Pudla Sandwich A dish that fuses two of our favourites, pudla and sandwich into one is simply brilliant. By Sanjeev Kapoor 09 Feb 2022 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Gram flour (besan), White bread Cuisine Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Pudla Sandwich 1 cup Gram flour (besan) 8 slices White bread 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder to taste Salt 1/2 teaspoon Green chillies , cinely chopped as required Fresh coriander leaves , chopped 4 tablespoons Tomatoes , finely chopped 4 tablespoons Mixed capsicujms , cut into thin strips as required Chaat masala 4 tablespoons Purple cabbage , finely shredded 4 tablespoons Cabbaage , finely shredded as required Butter 4 tbsps + to garnish Processed cheese , grated to serve Tomato ketchup to serve Green chutney Method To make pudla batter, take gram flour in a mixing bowl, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, green chillies, 1½ teaspoons coriander leaves and ¼ cup water and whisk well to make a smooth batter. Heat a non-stick pan. Take 2 bread slices, dip in the batter till well coated and place on the pan. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon tomatoes, 1 tablespoon mixed capsicums, ¼ teaspoon chaat masala, 1 tablespoon purple cabbage and 1 tablespoon cabbage and press lightly. Drizzle butter along the edges. Flip the slices when the underside turns golden brown. Drizzle some more butter along the edges and flip once more. Sprinkle some coriander leaves, 1 tablespoon processed cheese and some chaat masala. Cut the bread slices from the centre and place one bread slice over the other with the topping side facing each other. Remove from heat and cut into four triangles. Make more sandwiches in the same way.
