Ingredients list for Poha Croquettes-SK Khazana

  • 1 1/2 cups Pressed rice (poh)
  • 2 Medium potatoes boiled, peeled and grated
  • 1 Medium onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Green peas blanched
  • 1 teaspoon Curry leaves shredded
  • 2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • as required Refined flour (maida) slurry
  • for coating Dried breadcrumbs
  • to deep fry Oil

Method

  1. Soak pressed rice in some water and drain.
  2. Mix together potatoes, onion, green peas, curry leaves, green chillies, mustard seeds, coriander leaves, chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and pressed rice in a bowl.
  3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into croquettes.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry croquettes till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Serve hot with green chutney.
