Ingredients list for Pasta Sundal

  • 3 cups Macaroni boiled
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 5-7 Curry leaves
  • 1 Green chillies chopped
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 3 tablespoons Scraped coconut
  • 3 tablespoons Gun powder (molagapudi)
  • 1/4 cup Coconut milk
  • 4 teaspoons Peanuts roasted and skinned
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick wok, add cumin seeds and saute till the colour changes. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add curry leaves and green chilli and sauté for 5 seconds. Add asafoetida and sauté for 5 seconds.
  3. Add macaroni, scraped coconut and gun powder and mix well. Add coconut milk, peanuts and salt and mix well.
  4. Add coriander leaves and lemon juice and toss.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve.
