Ingredients list for Paneer Matar Roomali Rolls

  • 200 grams Paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 4 Roomali rotis cut into rectangles
  • 2 tablespoons Green peas boiled
  • 2-3 tablespoons Cornflour/ corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
  • 1 small Onion finely chopped
  • 200 grams Processed cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • to deep fry Oil

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  2. Combine cornflour, refined flour and enough water in a bowl to make a thick paste.
  3. Mix cottage cheese, green peas, onion, processed cheese, coriander powder, chaat masala, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander leaves and salt in a bowl.
  4. Apply the flour paste on each roomali roti rectangles, place a portion of paneer stuffing on one side, roll and seal the open end.
  5. Deep-fry these rolls in hot oil till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  6. Serve hot with tomato ketchup and green chutney.
