Ingredients for Masala Cheese Grilled Sandwich-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Sandwich bread slices

  • Potatoes boiled, peeled and grated 3 cups

  • Butter as required

  • Oil 3 tablespoons

  • Mustard seeds 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Asafoetida 3/4 teaspoon

  • Ginger-garlic-green chilli-coriander paste 4 tablespoons

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Cabbage shressed 3/4 cup

  • Small green capsicums cut into strips 2

  • Small tomatoes finely chopped 2

  • Chaat masala 3 teaspoon to sprinkle

  • Green chutney as required

  • Processed cheese grated as required


Step 1

Heat a sandwich griller.

Step 2

For each sandwich, spread some butter on both sides of a bread slice and grill till grill marks appear on both sides. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add asafoetida, ginger-garlic green chilli-coriander paste and turmeric powder, mix and sauté for a few seconds.

Step 4

Add potatoes and salt, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

Step 5

Mix together cabbage, capsicum, tomato, salt and 1 teaspoon chaat masala in a bowl.

Step 6

Apply some green chutney on a bread slice. Top with a generous portion of potato mixture, some cheese and place the grilled bread slice over it.

Step 7

Top with remaining potato mixture and vegetable mixture. Sprinkle some chaat masala, cheese and cover with the remaining bread slice.

Step 8

Apply some more butter on top, place the sandwich on the griller, cover and grill till well done on both sides and grill marks appear.

Step 9

Grate some more cheese on top and serve immediately.
