Ingredients list for Khichuri

  • 1 cup Rice soaked
  • 1/2 cup Split Green Gram Skinless
  • 2 teaspoons Ghee
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 Green chilli
  • 1 small Cauliflower cut into florets
  • 1 Carrot cut into 1 cm pieces
  • 5-6 French beans cut into diamonds
  • 1 medium Potato quartered
  • 1 medium Tomato cut
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoons Sugar

Method

  1. Dry roast the moong dal till light brown. Remove and keep it aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a non stick pan, add bay laef, green chillies and saute for a minute.
  3. Add cauliflower, carrot, french beans, potatoes, tomatoes and saute for a minute.
  4. Add turmeric powder, salt, sugar and half cup water and cook till vegetables are tender.
  5. Serve hot.
