Ingredients for Hot Garlic Sauce Recipe

  • Dried red chillies , seeded and soaked for 15 minutes 10-12

  • Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Soy sauce 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

  • Tomato ketchup 2 tablespoons

  • Sugar 1/2 teaspoon

  • Vinegar 1 teaspoon

  • Boneless chicken , cut into 1 inch pieces 250 grams

  • Onion , cubed and layers separated 1 medium

  • Tomato , cubed 1 medium

  • Yellow capsicum , cubed 1 medium

  • Spring onion greens , diagonally sliced for garnish

Method

Step 1

Drain red chillies and put into a blender jar, add a little of the water in which the chillies were soaked and blend to a fine paste.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic and sauté for ½ minute. Add red chilli paste, mix and saute till the oil separates.

Step 3

Add ½ cup water and mix well. Add soy sauce, salt, crushed peppercorns, tomato ketchup and sugar, mix and cook for a minute. Add vinegar and mix.

Step 4

Transfer some of the sauce into a serving bowl and set aside.

Step 5

Add chicken pieces to the sauce remaining in the pan, mix well and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add salt and toss. Add onion, tomato and yellow capsicum, mix well and cook till chicken is done.

Step 6

Remove the pan from heat, transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with spring onion springs and serve with the hot garlic sauce in the bowl.
