When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Goan Chicken Coconut Curry Recipe

  • Boneless chicken cut into cubes 450 grams

  • Coconut milk 1/2 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Ginger-garlic paste finely chopped 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Onion 1 medium

  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon

  • Chicken stock 2-3 cups


Step 1

Take chicken in a bowl. Add salt, turmeric powder and lemon juice and mix well. Set aside for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add ginger-garlic paste, stir and sauté well. Add onion, mix and sauté on high heat till translucent.

Step 3

Add chicken, mix well and cook for 1 minute. Add garam masala powder, chilli powder and cumin powder, mix well and cook till the oil separates.

Step 4

Add chicken stock, stir to mix, cover and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 5

Add coconut milk, mix well and simmer for 3-4 minutes.

Step 6

Serve hot.
