Ingredients for Deep-Fried Cookie Dough Recipe

  • Cookie Dough

  • Refined flour (maida) 1¼ cups

  • Butter ? cup

  • brown sugar/jaggery ½ cup

  • Sugar 2 tablespoons

  • Egg 1

  • Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon

  • Chocolate chips 1 cup

  • Batter

  • Refined flour (maida) 1¼ cups

  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt ¼ teaspoon

  • Sugar ¼ teaspoon

  • Milk 1 cup + 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 2 teaspoons

  • Oil for deep-frying

  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Method

Step 1

To make cookie dough, beat together butter, brown sugar and sugar in a planetary mixer, on medium-high speed till well combined.

Step 2

Add egg and vanilla essence and beat till well combined. Reduce speed to low, add flour and chocolate chips gradually till the dough is formed.

Step 3

Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and shape them into 1inch thick balls. Place them on a baking sheet and refrigerate for 1hour or till firm.

Step 4

To make batter, mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in another bowl. Add milk and oil and whisk till a smooth batter is formed.

Step 5

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 6

Dip the firm cookie dough balls in the batter and deep-fry in hot oil till golden brown. Drain on an absorbent paper.

Step 7

Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
