Ingredients list for Dahi Chicken Korma - SK Khazana

  • 500 grams Boneless chicken cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 cup Yogurt (dahi)
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 Large onion finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 1/2 tablespoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 Medium tomato finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
  • to taste Black peppercorns crushed

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add onions and sauté till translucent. Add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, mix and cook for 1 minute.
  2. Add green chillies and chicken, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add 1 cup water and mix.
  3. Add garam masala powder, mix well, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Blend together tomato and yogurt to a fine puree.
  5. Add the puree to the chicken and mix well for a minute. Cover and cook till fully done.
  6. Add coriander leaves and mix well. Add crushed peppercorns, mix well and simmer for a minute.
  7. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with steamed rice.
