Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Crispy Chicken Sticks Recipe

  • Chicken mince 1 cup

  • Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Medium onion chopped 1

  • Small potato boiled, peeled and mashed 1

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil to grease to deep fry

  • Rice flour 1 cup

  • Beaten egg as required

  • Breadcrumbs and panko mixture 1 cup

  • Mustard mayo for drizzling

  • Onion rings to garnish

  • Fresh mint sprigs to garnish

  • Lemon wedges to garnish


Step 1

Take chicken mince in a bowl and press with a fork to flatten the mince. Add garlic, coriander leaves, crushed black peppercorns, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, onion, potato and salt and mix well.

Step 2

Grease palms with oil, take a portion of chicken mixture and wrap around a soaked skewer. Similarly use up the remaining chicken mixture.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 4

Spread rice flour on one plate and breadcrumbs-panko mixture on another plate. Take beaten eggs in an oval shallow bowl.

Step 5

Roll each chicken stick in rice flour, dust off excess, dip in egg mixture and roll in breadcrumbs and panko mixture. Press slightly to secure the coating evenly.

Step 6

Slide the chicken sticks into hot oil and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 7

Transfer chicken sticks onto a serving plate and drizzle mustard mayo over them. Serve hot garnished with onion rings, mint sprigs and lemon wedges.
