Ingredients list for Corn And Cheese Balls

  • 1 cup Sweet corn kernels , boiled and crushed
  • 2 cups Processed cheese , grated
  • to deep fry Oil
  • 1 inch Ginger , finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
  • 1 Green chilli , finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Cornflour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon Refined flour (maida)
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves , freshly chopped
  • to serve Tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  2. Take crushed sweet corn kernels in a mixing bowl, add processed cheese, ginger, salt, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, green chilli, cornflour, baking soda, refined flour, crushed peppercorns and coriander leaves and mix well.
  3. Dampen your palms with some water, divide the dough into equal portions and shape each portion into balls and keep them on a plate.
  4. Slide these balls into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Arrange the corn and cheese balls in a serving bowl and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
