You can’t eat breakfast at night or dinner in the afternoon – but snacks? that you can eat anytime of the day! Along with tea, after school or at a birthday party – snacks are every foodie’s ultimate favourite. Healthy snacking is the best way to satisfy your munchies without the worry of to many added calories.

Ingredients for Besan Cheela Burrito - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Gram flour (besan) 1 1/2 cups

  • Whole wheat flour (atta) 1 cup + for dusting

  • Red chilli flakes dried 1/2 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Oil 2 tablespoons + for drizzling

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Romaine lettuce fresh leaves as required

  • Rice herbed, ready-made as required

  • Baked beans as required

  • Salsa For topping

  • Sour cream for drizzling

Method

Step 1

Add Besan and whole wheat flour in a large bowl. Add dried red chilli flakes, salt, turmeric powder and drizzle 2 tsps oil. Add chopped coriander and ¾ cup water and mix well. Knead to a semi-soft dough. Cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Take a portion of the dough and shape it into a ball, slightly flatten it. Dust the work top with whole wheat flour and place the portion of the dough on it and roll into a thin disc.

Step 3

Heat a non-stick tawa, cook the prepared disc for 1-2 minutes on each side. Drizzle a little oil and cook further for 1 minute on each side. Transfer on a worktop.

Step 4

Add a few romaine lettuce leaves, add a portion of the herbed rice and add baked beans on top. Top up with salsa and drizzle sour cream. Fold the sides and roll into a burrito.

Step 5

Cut in half and serve with sour cream and salsa.
