And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Aloo Anardana Recipe

  • Potatoes 4 medium

  • Dried Pomegranate Seeds 1-2 cup

  • Butter 1-4 cup

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1/2 tablespoon

  • Cumin powder 3/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green chillies chopped 3

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespoon


Step 1

Boil, cool, peel and cut potatoes into one inch sized cubes. Crush anardana seeds.

Step 2

Heat butter in a pan. When it starts smoking, add potatoes and fry till red and crisp. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, crushed anardana, chopped green chillies and salt to the fried potatoes. Mix well. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
