Ingredients
- 4-5 rohu fishdarnes
- 7-8 garlic cloves
- 1 inch ginger, roughly chopped
- 4-5 green chillies
- Salt to taste
- 10-12 fresh lemon pepper pieces
- 20 grams dried bamboo shoots
- 10-15 bankoban leaves
- 2 tablespoons mustard oil
- Banana leaf pieces as required
Method
- Put garlic, ginger, green chillies, salt and lemon pepper pieces in a mortar and crush coarsely with a pestle.
- Add dried bamboo shoots and bankoban leaves and continue to crush.
- Take fish darnes in a plate and sprinkle salt over them. Drizzle mustard oil and mix well. Apply the crushed mixture on both the sides of the fish darnes.
- Heat sufficient water in a steamer.
- Wrap each fish piece in a piece of banana leaf and make a parcel. Arrange these parcels in the steamer basket and steam for 10-15 minutes.
- Place them on a serving plate and serve hot.
