Ingredients
- 3-4 fresh maalu leaves
- 2 cups grated mawa/khoya
- ¾ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon green cardamom powder
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg powder
- 1 cup scraped fresh coconut
- Slivered almonds for garnish
Method
- Heat sugar and ½ cup water in a non-stick pan, mix well and cook till sugar dissolves.
- Add khoya and continue to mix and cook till it melts. Further cook, stirring continuously, for 6-8 minutes or till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
- Add green cardamom powder and nutmeg powder, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add coconut and continue to mix and cook for 1-2 minutes. Transfer the mixture onto a plate and allow to cool down to room temperature.
- Cut the maalu leaves in half, shape each half into a cone and secure it with a toothpick.
- Stuff each cone with a portion of the khoya mixture, garnish with slivered almonds. Arrange on a serving plate and serve.
- Peel off the leaf before eating.
