Onion Pakoda

We often think onion pakodas have to be deep-fried to be crispy and delicious, but with an air fryer, you can enjoy all the crunch and flavour of classic pakodas without excess oil.

Ingredients

Method 

  1. Slice onions thinly and transfer into a bowl. Add salt, mix well and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Add gram flour, crushed coriander seeds, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and carom seeds and mix well.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 200° C for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper and brush some oil over it.
  5. Divide the onion mixture into equal sized pakodas and place in air fryer basket in single layer.
  6. Brush some more oil on top, fit the basket to the air fryer and air fry for 6 minutes.
  7. Bring the basket out, flip, brush some more oil over the pakodas, fit the basket to the air fryer and air fry for 8 minutes.  
  8. Bring the basket out, arrange the pakodas in a serving bowl and serve hot.
