Ingredients

  • 10-12 thick light green chillies
  • 3-4 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • Salt to taste
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
  • ¼ cup roasted and powdered peanuts
  • 2-3 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves + for garnish
  • Jowar bhakri for serving

Method

  1. Remove the stems of the chillies, slit them and chop roughly. 
  2. Heat oil in kadai. Add cumin seeds and once they start to change colour, add garlic, mix and sauté till golden brown.
  3. Add onions and salt, mix and sauté till golden brown.
  4. Add curry leaves and mix. Add green chillies and mix. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder and mix well.
  6. Add powdered peanuts and mix well. Add ½ cup water and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Add coriander leaves and mix.
  8. Transfer into serving bowl, sprinkle coriander leaves and serve hot with jowar bhakri.
