Method

  1. Heat a non-stick pan, add horse gram and roast till fragrant. Transfer onto a plate and set aside to cool down.
  2. Heat coconut oil in the same pan, add dried red chillies and garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Transfer into the same plate and set aside to cool down.
  3. Add coconut to the same pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Transfer into the same pan and let all of it to cool down.
  4. Add salt and mix well.
  5. Transfer into a grinder jar, add ½ cup water and tamarind and grind to a fine paste.
  6. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve with hot steamed rice and ghee.
