Ingredients
- 2 cups puffed rice (kurmura/murmura)
- 2 cups thin pressed rice (patla poha)
- 3-4 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- ¼ cup roasted chana dal (daliya dal)
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- ½ cup fried peanuts
- 2 tablespoons green chilli thecha
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
- ¼ teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- Mixture of chopped onion and chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Method
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool completely.
- Take puffed rice in a parat, add pressed rice, onion, daliya dal, coriander leaves, fried peanuts, green chilli thecha, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and salt. Add the cooled oil-mustard seeds mixture and mix gently till everything is well combined.
- Transfer onto individual serving plates, sprinkle onion and fresh coriander leaves and serve immediately.
