Coconut Modak

These soft, delicate modaks made of a rich and fragrant mixture of desiccated coconut, mixed nuts and condensed milk, lightly flavoured with green cardamom powder.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick kadai, add cashew nuts, almonds and pistachios, mix and sauté till golden brown. Transfer onto a plate and set aside.
  2. Add desiccated coconut to the same pan and sauté on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Transfer into a bowl, add all the nuts and green cardamom powder and mix well.
  4. Add condensed milk and mix well.
  5. Grease modak mould with some ghee. Put some coconut mixture into the mould and press well.  
  6. Demould, place the modaks on a serving plate and serve.
