Ingredients
- Mozzarella cheese slices as required
- 4 chicken salamis
- 4 white bread slices
- Cream cheese to apply
- Pizza sauce to apply
- Dried mixed herbs to sprinkle
- Red chilli flakes as required
- 1½ cups dried breadcrumbs
- Salt to taste
- Crushed black peppercorns to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Thick refined flour slurry as required
- Oil to deep fry
- Tomato ketchup for serving
Method
- Trim the edges of bread slices. Apply cream cheese and pizza sauce on all the bread slices.
- Place 1 salami on each of 2 bread slices and top it with 2-3 mozzarella cheese slices. Sprinkle dried mixed herbs and red chilli flakes on top.
- Place 1 more salami on top of each of them and cover with the remaining bread slices. Cut each sandwich into 4 pieces.
- Spread breadcrumbs on a plate. Add salt, crushed black peppercorns, red chilli flakes and parsley and mix well.
- Dip the bread parcels in refined flour slurry and roll in breadcrumb mixture and keep them on a plate. Freeze them for 20-25 minutes.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Bring the bread parcels out of the freezer, slide them gently into hot oil and deep-fry the till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
