Arakkonam Vadai

Method

  1. Take rice flour in a large bowl, add red chilli powder, salt, white sesame seeds, soaked pigeon peas and asafoetida and mix well. Add ¾ cup water and mix to make a soft dough. 
  2. Grease your palms, take a portion of the dough, place it on a greased banana leaf, spread with your fingers and shape it into a thin disc. Similarly make more discs.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Gently slide in the discs, one at a time, and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. 
  4. Arrange the vadai in a serving bowl and serve.
