Ingredients
- 16-20 medium prawns (kolambi), peeled, cleaned, and deveined
- 2 tablespoons agri masala
- ¾ cup grated dried coconut
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 10-12 garlic cloves, coarsely crushed
- 2 green chillies, coarsely crushed
- 2 medium potatoes, par-boiled and quartered with the skin on
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2-3 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- Fresh coriander sprig for garnish
- To serve
- Rice bhakris, as required
- Onion wedges, as required
- Green chillies
Method
- Dry roast dried coconut in a kadai till golden. Switch the heat off and set aside to cool. Transfer into a grinder jar and grind to a fine powder.
- Heat oil in a pan, add garlic and green chillies, mix and sauté till golden brown.
- Add potatoes, agri masala, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder and mix well.
- Add 2½ cups water and salt and mix, cook till it comes to a boil.
- Add prawns and coconut powder and mix well. Cook on high heat for 5-6 minutes.
- Add lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well. Let the mixture boil for 2 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot with rice bhakris¸ onion wedges and green chillies.
