Ingredients list for Uralai Chops
- 2 medium Potatoes peeled
- 10-12 Curry leaves
- 2 Green chillies finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 3 tablespoons Oil
- 2 tablespoons Rice flour
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
Method
- Slice potatoes into roundels. Parboil the potato roundels with a little turmeric powder and 2 cups water.
- Mix together green chillies, garlic paste, ginger paste, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and 3 tbsps oil and mix well.
- Add rice flour and mix well to make a paste.
- Add salt and parboiled potatoes and mix well so that all the potato slices are well coated with the masala.
- Keep the mixture aside for some time.Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
- Add the potato slices and curry leaves and shallow fry, turning sides, till they become golden and crisp.
- Drain on an absorbent paper and serve hot.
