Ingredients
- 5-6 tomatoes, chopped
- 250 grams dates, seeded and chopped
- 1 teaspoon oil
- 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 green chillies, chopped
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, roasted and powdered
- 3 tablespoons raisins
- 3/4 cup jaggery (gur), grated
- 1/4 cup sugar
Method
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When they crackle, add chopped tomatoes, chopped green chilli and salt. Mix. Add chopped dates and half a cup of water. Add roasted cumin seed powder, raisins and cook for five minutes.
- Mash the tomatoes a little, add grated jaggery and sugar. Add a little water if required. Cook till the jaggery has dissolved and blended well with the tomatoes. Serve at room temperature.
