Ingredients list for Tamarind Leaves Dal
- 1/4 cup Tamarind Leaves
- 1/2 cup Split Pigeon Pea soaked
- 1/2 cup Split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal) soaked
- 1 medium Onion
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 10-12 Curry leaves
- 3 Green chillies
- to taste Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
Method
- Roughly chop onion.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker. - Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves and onion and saute for 2 minutes.
Add tuvar dal and moong dal and mix. - Slit green chillies and add.
Add salt and turmeric powder and mix. - Add 2 cups water and tamarind leaves and mix.
Cover the cooker with the lid and cook under pressure till 3 whistles are given out. - Let it remain in the cooker for 10 minutes.
Open the lid and serve hot.
