Ingredients list for Shallow-Fried Fish With Oatmeal
- 2 Fish fillet boneless
- 1 cup Oatmeal
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 12-15 Curry leaves
- a pinch Citric acid
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
Method
- Cut fish fillets at a slant into big chunks. Keep them on a plate and sprinkle lemon juice, half the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, ginger-garlic paste and mix well.
- Add curry leaves and oatmeal and cook on low heat till crisp. Add a little salt and citric acid, sugar, remaining turmeric powder and mix well.
- Transfer onto a plate and set aside. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick grill pan.Let them marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter.
- Place fish pieces on it and cook, turning sides a few times for even cooking, till both sides are golden.
- Place fish pieces on oatmeal mixture and cover them well with it.
- Arrange fish pieces on a serving platter, sprinkle extra oatmeal mixture on top and serve hot.
