Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Cook time : 26-30 minutes

Ingredients for Quick Jeera Chicken-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Chicken cut into 1 inch pieces on the bone 750 grams

  • Cumin seeds (jeera) 1 tablespoon

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Green chillies roughly chopped 2-3

  • Large onion sliced 1

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh mint leaves 12-16

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh coriander sprig for garnish

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté till the seeds change colour. Add garlic and green chillies and sauté till fragrant.

Step 2

Add onions, mix and sauté for 2 minutes. Cover and cook till golden brown. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt, mix and cook till the oil separates.

Step 3

Add chicken and mix well. Add coriander leaves and mint leaves, mix well, cover and cook till done.

Step 4

Switch off heat, add lemon juice and mix well.

Step 5

Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
