Ingredients list for Prawns Varuval
- 20-25 Medium prawns shelled, deveined and washed
- 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli paste
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black peppercorns crushed
- 2 1/2 tablespoons Coconut oil
- 8-10 Curry leaves
- 2 Green chillies slit
- 1 Medium onion sliced
- to garnish Fresh coriander sprigs
Method
- Take prawns in a bowl, add ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and crushed black peppercorns, mix well and set aside to marinage for 10 minutes.
- Heat 1½ tbsps oil in a non-stick pan, add the marinated prawns and sauté on high heat for 3-4 minutes. Take it off the heat and transfer into another bowl.
- Heat remaining oil in the same pan, add curry leaves and green chillies, mix and sauté for a 1 minute. Add onion, mix and sauté till golden brown.
- Add the prawns, mix well and saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer into a serving platter, garnish with coriander sprigs and serve hot.
