And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Potato stir fry Recipe

  • Potatoes boiled and diced 4 Big

  • Turmeric powder 3/4 teaspoon

  • Kashmiri red chilli powder 1 tablespoon

  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon

  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon

  • Oil 3 tablespoon

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Onions chopped 2 medium

  • Green chillies chopped 4

  • Asafoetida 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Combine potato with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and chaat masala.Mix well and set aside to marinate.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and when they change colour, add onion and green chillies. Saute till onions are brown.

Step 3

Add asafoetida, marinated potato and salt. Mix well and cook on medium heat for about fifteen minutes. Cook for a minute. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice and dal or rotis.
