Ingredients list for Oats Payezz

  • 1 cup Oats
  • 1/2 cup Green Gram soaked
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 6 Cloves
  • 2 inch stick Cinnamon
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 medium Onion thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 medium Tomato chopped
  • 4 Green chilli chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method

  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon and bay leaf and saute for a minute.
  2. Add onions and saute till translucent. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  3. Add turmeric powder, tomatoes, green chillies and saute till the tomatoes get cooked.
  4. Add the dal, oats,salt. Mint leaves and coriander leaves with three cups of water and pressure cook it for three whistles.
  5. Remove the cooker from heat and allow the pressure to release.
  6. Serve hot garnished with mint leaves.
