Ingredients list for Masala Cheese Grilled Sandwich-SK Khazana

  • Sandwich bread slices
  • 3 cups Potatoes boiled, peeled and grated
  • as required Butter
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Mustard seeds
  • 3/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 4 tablespoons Ginger-garlic-green chilli-coriander paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 3/4 cup Cabbage shressed
  • 2 Small green capsicums cut into strips
  • 2 Small tomatoes finely chopped
  • 3 teaspoon to sprinkle Chaat masala
  • as required Green chutney
  • as required Processed cheese grated

Method

  1. Heat a sandwich griller.
  2. For each sandwich, spread some butter on both sides of a bread slice and grill till grill marks appear on both sides. Set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add asafoetida, ginger-garlic green chilli-coriander paste and turmeric powder, mix and sauté for a few seconds.
  4. Add potatoes and salt, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  5. Mix together cabbage, capsicum, tomato, salt and 1 teaspoon chaat masala in a bowl.
  6. Apply some green chutney on a bread slice. Top with a generous portion of potato mixture, some cheese and place the grilled bread slice over it.
  7. Top with remaining potato mixture and vegetable mixture. Sprinkle some chaat masala, cheese and cover with the remaining bread slice.
  8. Apply some more butter on top, place the sandwich on the griller, cover and grill till well done on both sides and grill marks appear.
  9. Grate some more cheese on top and serve immediately.
