Ingredients
- 1/2 cup mangodi (moong dal vadis)
- 3/4 medium cabbage
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 8-10 curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger
- 3 green chillies
- 1/2 teaspoon dried mango powder (amchur)
- 1/4 cup frozen green peas
Method
- Roughly chop cabbage.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add asafoetida and mustard seeds and let the seeds splutter.
- Add curry leaves and sauté for ½ minute. Add mangodi, mix and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add a few drops of water, cover and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add cabbage, salt, turmeric powder and ginger, cover and cook for 1 minute. Mix well, cover and cook for ½ minute.
- Slit green chillies and add. Mix, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Add dried mango powder and mix well. Add green peas, mix well, cover and cook for 5 minutes.
- Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
