Kurkure Chicken

Ingredients 

  • 300 grams boneless chicken breast, cut into strips
  • 2 cups savoury crispies
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste 
  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste 
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for deep-frying
  • Chaat masala for sprinkling
  • Mayonnaise to serve

Method

  1. Take chicken strips in a bowl, add red chilli flakes, garlic powder, salt, crushed black peppercorns, onion powder and parsley. Break an egg into the bowl and mix well.
  2. Put the savoury krispies in a zip lock bag, lock it and crush the crispies, with a rolling pin, into a coarse powder. Spread them on a plate.
  3. Roll each chicken strip in the crushed savory crispies till they are well coated. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a wok, slide the chicken into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Sprinkle chaat masala over them and mix carefully.
  6. Transfer them onto a serving plate and serve hot with mayonnaise.
