Ingredients
- 200 grams green chana, shelled
- 150 grams cottage cheese
- 1 inch ginger piece
- 8 garlic cloves
- 2 1/2 tablespoons oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 4 medium onions,grated
- 3 large tomatoes, grated
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 3/4 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- 1 teaspoons coriander powder
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
Method
- Clean, wash and drain green chana. Cut paneer into small pieces. Grind ginger and garlic into a paste
- Heat oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds. When they begin to change colour, add grated onions and sauté till light brown. Add two tablespoons of water to the ginger and garlic pastes and mix.
- Once the onion turns brown add this mixture and stir. Add grated tomatoes and sauté for ten to fifteen minutes or till oil surfaces.
- Add hare chane and one cup of water and bring it to a boil. Add salt, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and stir. Cover and let it cook on medium heat for ten to twelve minutes.
- Add coriander powder and mix. Add chopped coriander leaves, paneer pieces, garam masala powder and simmer for two minutes.
- Serve hot.
