Ingredients
- 1 medium Surmai fish, cut into darnes
- ½ medium bunch fresh coriander leaves + for garnishing
- 2-3 green chillies
- 6-8 garlic cloves
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ cup semolina (rawa/suji)
- 1 tablespoon rice flour
- Oil for shallow frying
- ½ lemon for garnishing
Method
- Grind together coriander leaves, green chillies, garlic cloves, salt and lemon juice with some water to a smooth paste.
- Take fish darnes in a bowl. Add salt and mix. Add ground paste and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- Spread semolina on a plate. Add rice flour and mix well.
- Coat each marinated fish darn with semolina mixture.
- Heat some oil in a non-stick pan. Shallow-fry the fish, turning sides, till evenly cooked, golden and crisp on both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves and halved lemon.
