Ingredients list for Goan Chicken Patties

  • 250 grams Chicken mince
  • 1 Medium carrot finely chopped
  • 1 Large potato boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopepd
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Dried breadcrumbs
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 to cook Vinegar
  • for coating Semolina
  • to shallow fry Oil
  • to serve Tomato ketchup


  1. Take chicken mince in a large mixing bowl, add carrot, potato, ginger-garlic paste, coriander leaves, red chilli powder, coriander powder, chaat masala, turmeric powder, green chillies and breadcrumbs. Break, 1 egg and add along with vinegar and mix well.
  2. Break the remaining 2 eggs into a bowl and beat. Spread semolina on a plate.
  3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties. Dip in beaten eggs and coat in semolina and place them on a plate
  4. Heat some oil in a non-stick pan, place the patties in it and shallow-fry on medium heat, turning sides till the chicken is cooked and the patties evenly golden brown on both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Arrange the patties on a serving plate and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
