Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Drumstick Fry Recipe

  • Drumstick 2

  • Split Bengal gram (chana dal) 50 grams

  • Rice raw 1/2 cup

  • Green chilli 2

  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon

  • Dry mango powder (amchur) 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 4 tablespoons

  • coriander leaves for garnish


Step 1

Soak the Channa dal and rice for 10 minutes. Cut the drum sticks into 2" length and boil till tender.

Step 2

Strain the water and keep the boiled drum sticks aside. Grind the chana dal, rice, green chilli, cumin powder, coriander powder, dry mango powder and salt together and make a thick paste.

Step 3

Mix the paste over the drum sticks and mix well. See that the paste is properly spread over each drum stick piece. Heat oil in a no stick pan. Shallow fry the drumsticks for a few minutes. When becomes light brown remove the drum sticks from the pan and put in a serving plate, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
