Ingredients list for Deep-Fried Cookie Dough
- Cookie Dough
- 1¼ cups Refined flour (maida)
- ? cup Butter
- ½ cup brown sugar/jaggery
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
- 1 cup Chocolate chips
- Batter
- 1¼ cups Refined flour (maida)
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ teaspoon Sugar
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons Milk
- 2 teaspoons Oil
- for deep-frying Oil
- for dusting Powdered sugar
Method
- To make cookie dough, beat together butter, brown sugar and sugar in a planetary mixer, on medium-high speed till well combined.
- Add egg and vanilla essence and beat till well combined. Reduce speed to low, add flour and chocolate chips gradually till the dough is formed.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and shape them into 1inch thick balls. Place them on a baking sheet and refrigerate for 1hour or till firm.
- To make batter, mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in another bowl. Add milk and oil and whisk till a smooth batter is formed.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Dip the firm cookie dough balls in the batter and deep-fry in hot oil till golden brown. Drain on an absorbent paper.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
