Ingredients
- 250 grams split skinless bengal grams (chana dal)
- 250 grams cottage cheese (paneer), grated
- 1 large tomato, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons mustard oil
- 4 bay leaves
- 4 dried red chillies
- 2 tablespoons cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Method
- Pressure cook chana dal with tomato,onion and salt till done. Keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a non stick pan add bay leaves and dry red chillies and saute till fragrant.
- Add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and mix well.
- Add the boiled dal, paneer and sugar and let it simmer on medium flame for ten minutes.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
