Ingredients list for Crab Tikki

  • 1 cup Crab meat
  • 1 Medium onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons Dried breadcrumbs
  • for coating Semolina
  • for shallow frying Oil
  • to serve Green chutney
  • to garnish Onion rings
  • to garnish Lemon wedges
  • to garnish Fresh mint sprig


  1. Take crab meat in a bowl, add onion, garlic, green chilli, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, and coriander leaves and mix well. Add salt and mix well. Add breadcrumbs, mix and rest the mixture for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions, shape them into round balls and flatten them slightly.
  3. Spread semolina on a plate roll the tikkis in it till they are well coated and place them on a plate.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick pan, place the tikkis in it and shallow-fry, turning sides gently, till they are evenly cooked and golden on both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Spread some green chutney in the centre of a serving platter, place the tikkis on either side of it. Garnish with onion rings, lemon wedges and mint sprig and serve hot.
