Ingredients
- 1 cup boiled sweet corn kernels, crushed
- 2 cups grated processed cheese
- Oil for deep-frying
- 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 green chilli, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon refined flour (maida)
- Crushed black peppercorns to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- Tomato ketchup for serving
Method
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Mix together crushed sweet corn kernels, processed cheese, ginger, salt, chilli powder, garam masala powder, green chilli, cornstarch, baking soda, refined flour, crushed peppercorns and coriander leaves in a bowl.
- Dampen your palms with some water, divide the dough into equal portions and shape into balls.
- Put the prepared balls in hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
